Telus Accessories Transformation

 When Telus transformed their retail environment to promote accessories, there was an opportunity to enhance the online experience to increase accessory sales and inspire customers to think of Telus as the destination for their lifestyle needs.

Together with my team, we designed a responsive homepage for accessories, highlighting categories that match with customers' lifestyles and needs. We feature a prominent search bar for customers to find accessories based on their devices and a module to present the best selling accessories.

I turned to a full bleed layout, making use of white space to highlight colourful product images. The full-bleed layout, use of large typography and colour was a break from previous patterns, but necessary to the success of the accessories transformation online. This style of design became a base for future iterations across the TELUS website.

It was a tough task to integrate lifestyle photography into a brand that had embraced white backgrounds and critters for so long. Working closely with brand and drawing inspiration from in-store graphics, I integrated lifestyle photography that are masked in a green overlay within a "mosaic" of Telus nature imagery.

Future Iterations

For future iterations, our team designed a left navigation and a module within the catalogue to promote any collections such as a holiday gift guide.
